The work formed a temporary and open-sided room, surrounding a tree. It consisted of a tensioned white fabric structure beginning at about chest level and rising 20 feet up a central tree trunk. Beneath was a pentagonal wooden floor and five fixed chairs.
Each chair had a large text panel at its foot declaring a philosophical position. Thus, taking a seat meant also choosing a philosophical position and having to defend it. Attached to each chair was a list of questions for consideration and to deepen the expected debate.
